Vulcan Studios is a specialty knife-making shop run by Jamie Chandler. Unique knives made custom for every order, created with old-world forging techniques. Their hand-crafted quality and design deserves a world-class website and brand to help market it, and this is precisely what Parallel Illustration delivered for Jamie's studio.

We brought together experts in multiple disciplines, including video editing, graphic design, and website design to deliver a unique brand that showcased both the business's products, as well as their personal voice. Tyler, the lead designer on this project, worked closely with the owner to establish a business visual language. They developed a system that could be implemented across many marketing materials, including print and digital marketing.

Jamie's Scandinavian heritage inspires his designs, reminiscent of Viking smithing and natural, classic materials like leather and bone. Parallel Illustration wanted to pull that Nordic heritage to the forefront, and with a name like Vulcan, the Roman god of the forge, we needed his clients to immediately identify his brand as a quality, but unique, brand focused on workmanship and style. We established a brand system that gives the impression of fire - of the molten process that only comes from hot melted metal.

Tyler helped shoot the video on-site in Jamie's studio. Together, they captured the work, and sweat, it takes to create a truly one-of-a-kind knife. This brand is a true collaboration between client and designer.
